Tarzan Swings into Wall at Canadian Border On Wednesday, Oct. 1, "Tarzan" star Travis Fimmel was supposed to be showing off his cheekbones, abs and, er, acting chops on a series of promotional appearances in New York City. Instead, the long-haired Australian beefcake was trapped in Canada. Apparently Fimmel was stopped by U.S. authorities with an outdated work visa, leaving the actor in New York and, no doubt, leaving Regis and Kelly sorely disappointed. Thanks to the wonder of satellite, The WB will still have plenty of opportunities to plug the former Calvin Klein underwear model."I'm sure he felt terrible about it and probably was embarrassed," WB spokeswoman Andrea Gruber said on Wednesday.According to media reports, Fimmel discovered his visa was out of date on Monday (Sept. 29) and all attempts to expedite the process of obtaining a new visa in short order were stymied by post-9/11 security precautions. After going through the proper screening process and background checks, Fimmel will no doubt be able to return to American soil in the near future. For the time being, Fimmel will have to continue to pretend that Toronto is really New York City. That shouldn't be too difficult since the Ontario city has been posing as a slightly cleaner version of New York for the entire early production on "Tarzan." Certainly there are worse plights than being stuck in Toronto, anyway. Fimmel can visit the Hockey Hall of Fame, the CN Tower, Tim Horton Donuts and even SkyDome (though the Blue Jays ended another disappointing season last week).Tarzan has its premiere on The WB on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
